Yes, I realize I dragged up an old thread. I guess at the time I figured I'd post on the old thread rather than start a new one. All I was looking for is basically tips on what builds a typical necro, monk, warrior or ranger would run in FOW since I'm new too it. So basically FOW is easy enough for pretty much any group to beat with smart play and common sense....that's about all I gather from your responses. By the way is UW pretty much the same difficulty level as FOW?

No he wasn't, in my view he was just flaming warriors for being useless except for tanking...

Warriors have a higher DPS than eles. That is not an opinion, it's a FACT. All warriors include wammos, exept the few morons who dont meet the requirements for their uber fellblade of leetness.
Edit for spelling aaaaah

who needs warrrios? last night i was in the best FoW group that i had been in, for a long long loong time.
1x healing monk
1x necro (who made minions and gave energy to the monk)
5x barrage + pet rangers; and thats it.
we cleared the forest, beach, cave, forge, outside the forge, one of the volcanoe islands, the skeleton plains, and the starting area ofc.
it went smooth and good ^^ i was really amazed by how well we need.
all of us got atleast 2 shards and one gold each ;D so we were all happy.

To the person that said B/P teams are good:
I tried the B/P team build last night, and it was awsome, we cleared the forge easily. Unfortunately, I accidentally pressed the sleep key, and froze my computer

Build I've used with sucess:
1 Tank
1 Water Ele
2 Echo Nukers
1 Monk
The tank will carry tank skills (duh), the ele will be using slowdown spells such as Deep Freeze and Ice Spikes so the mobs won't run away fast from the Meteor Showers, the 2 eles will be providing.
The monk will be a hybrid monk with Spellbreaker and some prot stuff.

Depends what you're after. If you're after crafting your armor, you want a full group.
Fow's greatest foe is not the local inhabitants, it's the disconnection/err7/leavers. Hence why you need to be redundant.
Personnaly I go with :
2 warriors with watch yourself and shields up (owns the barrage rangers)
1 surge mesmer with interrupts / 1 barrage ranger with interrupts
1 ss necro
2 fire ele (one with melee ward)
2 monks (one with prot spirit at least)
The 2 monks enable you surviving 1 of them disconnecting, same for warriors.
And with 4 "nukers", you can still easily survive 2 of them leaving .
